Hawa Mahal(palace of winds)

Adjoins the outside of the palace walls. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. The Hawamahal is a remarkable structure which overlooks one of the main streets and also provides some excellent views of the city. In the not-too-distant past, ladies of the court found it convenient to watch the activities on the streets below without being observed themselves.

 

City Palace

City Palace is the home of the erstwhile royal family. It is the most important landmark with its numerous outbuildings, courtyards, impressive gateways and temples. It houses the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas and a Museum.

Built by Sawai Jai Singh it is one of the most largest and best preserved laboratory. A collection of complex astronomical instruments chiseled out of stone, most of which continue to provide fairly accurate information to this day.

Jaigarh Fort

It is one of the few military structures of mediaeval India preserved almost intact, containing palaces, gardens, open and covered reservoirs, a granary, an armoury, a well planned cannon foundry, several temples, a tall tower and a giant mounted cannon The Jai Ban-one of the largest cannons in India.

Amer Fort

It is a splendid fort built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh, it sprawls on the hillside. Built in red sandstone and white marbles the fort is  a fascinating blend of Hindu and Muslim architechture. The palace complex has some very interesting apartments like Jai mandir, Sheesh mahal, Sukh niwas, Ganesh pol.

Nahargarh Fort

Beyond the hills of Jaigarh stand the fort of Nahargarh like a watchful sentinel guarding Sawai Jai Singh's beautiful capital. Some of the rooms provide the most spectacular view of the citybelow.

The beautiful Indo-Saracenic structure of the Albert Hall designed by Sir Swinton Jacob was opened as public museum in 1887. It contains a fine collection of sculptures,paintings,decorative art objects, natural history specimens, an Egyptian mummy and the celebrated Persian Garden Carpet.
